REQUIREMENTS:
We
currently can obtain birth records from
the state of New Jersey. The state will only provide
certificates to direct descendants or
family members (see the notes below). Please Click HERE

WARNING!
The regular turnaround time for birth certificates for the state of
New Jersey is usually on the order of 6 - 8 weeks, BUT at
the moment the vital records office is unusually backlogged and turnaround times
have extended to about THREE MONTHS. Please understand that
this situation is beyond our control and that we cannot accept any rush
orders for New Jersey Death (or Birth) Certificates. We hope that this
situation will improve over time and apologize for any inconvenience that
this might cause our clients. |
NOTE:
Per
New Jersey Governor's Executive Order #18 (more), you must submit
identification and state your relationship to the individual named on
the vital record you are requesting. Please view the link below on the
Executive Order for important information on who may obtain a certified
copy of a vital record. Click

Record Years
Available - records are available from
June 1878 to
present. Genealogy requests for records prior to 1878 may be
available, however application must be
made in writing and they have to be
recovered from archive which means that the
turnaround time may be significantly
longer.
A signed release may be required to
obtain a copy of the Birth Certificate.
New Jersey states that Birth
Certificates are only available to the
following individuals:
- Person
Named on the Certificate
- Mother/Father
(or Legal Guardian)
- Husband/Wife
of Person Named on Certificate
- Son/Daughter
of Person Named on Certificate
- Sister/Brother
of Person Named on Certificate
- Legal
Representative of an Authorized
Person
- Individuals
with a legitimate and legal reason
to search for genealogical purposes
The state of New Jersey has a number of
specific requirements.
You MUST provide the following or
they will be unable to process your
request:
- Full
name of person at birth
- Date
of birth
- County
(or city) of birth
- Hospital
of birth, if not hospital state
“home”
- Full
maiden name of mother
- Full
name of father
- Your
name
- Your
relationship to the person whose
certificate you are requesting
- Your
reason for searching for this

Fraudulent or Contested Credit Card Charges
Credit card fraud is an ongoing problem. For unsubstantiated, contested, or fraudulent credit card charges, there will be an additional $25.00 MINIMUM processing charge, PLUS collection and legal fees, IF incurred. If you call to cancel your order BEFORE the order is processed, then there will be a $15 cancellation charge assessed. BUT please be advised that ONCE your request has been transmitted to our researchers it is NOT possible for us to cancel the charges, or change or expedite the order.
